Every March feels the same. Your accountant wants the bills, your distributor wants the payments cleared, customers want last-minute invoices, and the bank wants papers signed before the books close. Your Instagram page, meanwhile, has been quiet since Holi. Then 1 April arrives, a rival shop posts a clean "new financial year" greeting, and you think: we should have done that too.

Financial year end posts are some of the easiest posts of the year to plan, because the dates never move. The Indian financial year usually closes on 31 March and opens on 1 April, every year. Yet most small businesses miss them, because March is the busiest month on the counter. This guide gives you a plan you can set up in February and forget about, so the posts are ready while you are busy closing the books.

Why the business new year deserves its own posts

For a trader, a CA, a bank or a wholesaler, 1 April matters more than 1 January. New price lists come in, new account books open, targets reset and many customers think about their own businesses in the same way. In some trading families the new account books are opened with a small puja, and in many towns the business new year sits close to Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, Cheti Chand or Baisakhi, which fall in March or April depending on the year.

That makes March and April a natural season for three kinds of messages:

  • Closing: "We are here to help you finish the year cleanly."
  • Thank you: "Thank you for a year of business together."
  • Fresh start: "New year, new stock, new plans, same trusted service."

None of these is a hard sale. They are relationship posts, and they work because every customer is going through the same season.

March closing posts: what to say in the last weeks

March closing posts should be useful and calm. Your customers are already stressed. Do not add panic.

Good March topics for most businesses:

  1. Last working days and timings. If your office, branch or shop keeps longer hours in the last week of March, say so clearly. If you are closed on a holiday, say that too.
  2. Invoice and paperwork reminders. "Need a final invoice or statement for this year? Ask us before the books close." Keep it general.
  3. Pending payments, politely. A gentle reminder to clear dues, framed as help ("so your accounts close cleanly"), never as a public warning.
  4. Document checklists. A CA firm or tax consultant can post a general checklist of papers to keep ready. Do not tell people what to file or claim: say "speak to your CA" and "check the current due date", because dates and rules change.
  5. Stock clearance. Shops that do a yearly stock count can tell customers why there is an offer on older stock.

For banks, NBFCs, insurance agents and CA firms, March is a sensitive month. Keep every post general, avoid any promise about tax savings or returns, and send readers to a qualified professional for their own case. Our guide to bank and finance social media posts covers that careful tone in detail, and the CA firm content guide has more ideas for professional firms.

Year end offer posts that do not cheapen your brand

Many retailers, dealers and distributors run a March sale. Year end offer posts can work well, as long as the offer is real and the post is honest.

A few rules that keep year-end offers clean:

  • State the actual offer. "₹500 off selected models", "free fitting with every purchase" or "buy two, get one on older stock". Avoid vague words like "massive" or "lowest ever" unless you can stand behind them.
  • Give the last day. "Offer valid till 31 March" is clear and fair. Do not keep extending a "last day" offer, because customers notice.
  • Say why. "Year-end stock clearance" or "making space for the new range" is believable, and it explains the price.
  • Separate it from greetings. Run the offer as its own post. Keep your thank-you and new-year posts free of prices.
  • Do not borrow tax language. Avoid lines like "save tax by buying now" unless a professional has confirmed it for your product, and even then keep it general.

A year-end offer is also a chance to reward regular customers. "Thank you to everyone who bought from us this year: here is a small year-end gift on your next visit" builds more goodwill than a flashing discount.

New financial year wishes and April 1 business posts

April 1 business posts are simple to make and surprisingly rare. Most businesses post a New Year greeting on 1 January and nothing on 1 April. That leaves room for you.

New financial year wishes can be:

  • A plain greeting. "Wishing you a successful new financial year" with your logo and colours.
  • A thank-you plus a promise. "Thank you for last year. This year, we are opening on Sundays too."
  • A new range or price list. "New stock for the new year" works for hardware, electronics, stationery and building materials.
  • A team post. A photo of the team on the first working day of the year, smiling and ready.

One caution: 1 April is also April Fools' Day. Avoid joke posts, fake offers and pranks on a business page that day. A customer who cannot tell whether your offer is real will not trust the next one either.

A financial year end posts plan for March and April

Here is a simple plan you can copy. Adjust it to your business, and remember that some festivals in this season move every year: Holi usually falls in February or March, and Gudi Padwa, Ugadi and Ram Navami usually fall in March or April. Check the current year's dates before you schedule anything around them.

That is about ten posts across six weeks: enough to look active during the busiest stretch, and few enough to manage. If you want the rest of the year planned the same way, our 365-day social media content calendar shows how to lay out every month, and the festival post calendar for India lists the main festivals.

Captions and design: keep it calm and clear

The picture should feel like a new beginning: morning light, a clean desk, a fresh notebook, a growing plant, an open shop shutter. Avoid piles of cash, rupee symbols raining from the sky or images that look like a lottery. They feel cheap, and for finance brands they can feel like a promise you cannot make.

A good year-end caption has three parts:

  • One line about the season ("The financial year closes on 31 March.")
  • One line about how you help ("Our office is open till 8 pm all week for your final statements.")
  • Your name, timings and how to reach you.

Write in the language your customers use: a Hindi caption for new financial year wishes often feels warmer than English. On LinkedIn, a more formal voice suits suppliers and bankers.

How Content365 plans the financial year for you

Content365 makes 365 branded posts for your business, one for every day of the year, and the financial year is planned into the calendar on the days it falls, along with Indian festivals. So the March reminders, the 31 March thank-you and the 1 April fresh start are already in place when you open your gallery.

The price is ₹3,999 including GST for one brand for the whole year. It is not a monthly fee. If you run a second business with its own name, that brand is the same ₹3,999 including GST. See pricing for what is included.

Here is what you get:

  • A post for every day. Each one is a 1080 x 1350 (4:5) image with a square-safe centre, ready for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and WhatsApp.
  • Your real logo and details. An image model paints a scene with no text in it. The studio's compositor then places your real logo, business name, phone, website and call to action on top, from the exact text you gave. The logo is never redrawn by the model.
  • Captions every day. Captions are written for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X, plus one in your own language (Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and 9 more).
  • Variety through the year. 365 angles across 5 lenses make 1,825 concepts in 21 angle families, mixed across the year. Near-duplicate pictures are rejected.
  • Checked pictures. A vision model checks every picture for stray text and problems, with up to 3 tries per day. A day that never passes still arrives, with a visible warning.
  • No invented claims. Ratings, testimonials, awards, guarantees and statistics appear only when you confirmed them, which matters a lot for finance and professional firms.

You review every day in your own gallery first. Nothing posts by itself: we do not post on your pages, so you or your team decide what goes out and when. You also get one download folder with all pictures, captions.csv, prompts.csv, calendar.csv and a gallery that opens on any phone. Hosting lasts 90 days from payment, then ₹3,000 a year before GST, or you keep the folder.

Want to see it first? The free plan gives you 2 posts for your brand every 48 hours, with no payment needed. Sign in with Google and start free. When March is close and you want the whole year sorted, look at the yearly plan.

Frequently asked questions

When should I post year-end reminders?

Start in early March, so customers have time to act, and post a final reminder in the last week of the month. Add a thank-you post on 31 March and a fresh-start greeting on 1 April.

Can a CA firm or bank post about tax deadlines?

Yes, in a general way. Remind people that the year is closing and that they should check the current due date and speak to their CA. Do not give tax advice or promise savings in a social media post, because rules and dates change.

Is it fine to run a year-end sale?

Yes, if the offer is real, the last day is clear and you explain why, such as clearing older stock. Keep the sale post separate from your thank-you and new financial year greetings.

What should I post on 1 April?

A simple new financial year greeting with your logo, or a post about new stock, a new price list or a new service. Avoid April Fools' jokes or fake offers on a business page.

Does Content365 include the financial year in my calendar?

Yes. Indian festivals and the financial year are planned into the calendar on the days they fall. You review each day in your gallery and post it yourself.
